• West Hampton Dunes offers some of the best salt water fishing opportunities in the Northeast.  No boat, no problem.  Striped Bass, Bluefish and even fluke (and many other species) are caught all season long right on the beach.  Visit one of the many area sporting goods stores and stock up on surf casting gear. Most of these shops will give you the advice you need and set you up with the right gear for the environment. 

• Don't leave home without your license.  Not your drivers license, your New York State Resident Marine Fishing License.  The fee is only $10 and is required of all adults who are actively fishing.  If you have children (under 16) who are interested in fishing they aren't required to have the license but the adult (over 16) with them does.    Click here for more info!
  

•  There are seasons and size requirements for most saltwater species.  Taking too many or short fish can result in hefty fines and the revocation of your fishing privileges.  Click here for further info! 

Seal Watching
